POLICE are searching for witnesses after two men allegedly robbed the Monbulk Jewellers over the weekend, making off with thousands of dollars worth of gold.
Yarra Ranges Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) Detective Sergeant Pat Barrow said that between 2.50am and 3.10am on Sunday 22 November, two men are believed to have jemmied open the front door at the Monbulk Jewellers in Main Street, Monbulk.
“They’ve gone inside the jewellers … and stolen $10,500 worth of gold chains and a ring,” Det Sgt Barrow said.
The ring is described as an Argyle diamond ring, and Det Sgt Barrow said that CCTV footage showed two men inside the store at the time of the robbery.
He said the items were taken from behind the front counter.
