RANGES Fitness is promoting the importance of fitness in the community for all ages.
The centre provides a fully equipped gym and offers several classes for older adults.
These classes are taken by qualified, professional, experienced instructors to help older adults maintain and improve physical and mental wellbeing.
Owner and manager at Ranges Fitness Catherine Swift said that staff work closely with Ranges Community Health and the Angliss Hospital to offer opportunities for older adults to exercise and socialise.
“After the class, the participants all enjoy a chat over a free cuppa,” she said.
“These classes cater for considerable variation in fitness levels, from the active over 55s to people in their 80s, some of whom have movement or balance problems, which can otherwise limit their exercise capabilities.
“My mother participates, and she is 88 years old!”
Catherine said that at only $6 per class, the Older but Stronger and Master Class programs offer great value.
